Old Deuteronomy?
Yeah, it’s Old Deuteronomy.
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
I might be dreaming but I confess
I believe that’s Old Deuteronomy.”
Old Deuteronomy has lived a long time
He’s known to all and he's lived more than one lives
Even before Queen Victoria’s accession
He was famous in proverb and nursery rhyme
His nine wives have passed away
And perhaps ninety-nine, I’d say
His children prospers and thrives
He’s the town’s pride though he’s at the end of his days
Seeing him lean there quiet and cozy
In the sun on the vicar’s fence
The oldest citizen shouted:
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
I might be dreaming but I confess
I believe that’s Old Deuteronomy.”
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
I might be dreaming but I confess
I believe that’s Old Deuteronomy.”
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
I might be dreaming but I confess
I believe that’s Old Deuteronomy.”
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
My legs are staggery, and I must go slowly
And watch out for Old Deuteronomy

Old Deuteronomy?
Yeah, it’s Old Deuteronomy.
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
I might be dreaming but I confess
I believe that’s Old Deuteronomy.”
Old Deuteronomy has lived a long time
He’s known to all and he's lived more than one lives
Even before Queen Victoria’s accession
He was famous in proverb and nursery rhyme
His nine wives have passed away
And perhaps ninety-nine, I’d say
His children prospers and thrives
He’s the town’s pride though he’s at the end of his days
Seeing him lean there quiet and cozy
In the sun on the vicar’s fence
The oldest citizen shouted:
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
I might be dreaming but I confess
I believe that’s Old Deuteronomy.”
“Oh! Is that him really?”

No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
I might be dreaming but I confess
I believe that’s Old Deuteronomy.”
“Oh! Is that him really?”
No! Yes! Ho! Hey! Oh good Lord!
My legs are staggery, and I must go slowly
And watch out for Old Deuteronomy
