he DOE of the United States Published the Research and Development Subsidies of 10.1 Million USD for SSL
As the respond to the plan of subsidies for SSL which published in Dec. 2012, the DOE of the United States has picked out five SSL companies as the project of the fourth round of subsidies. It will last two years with total of 10.1 million USD, and engaged to cost reduction and improve both quality and performance of LED and OLED.
According to the latest report of the DOE, the setting amount of LED in America has incresed 10 times than before in the past 2 years, from 4.5 million pieces in 2010 to 49 million pieces in 2012, it will save the energy cost of 675 million USD each year in prediction. The total sales of LED will take 75% in the light market by 2030, the energy which saved can be used for 26 million families.
The five companies which get subsidies are as below: Cree( 2.3 million USD), Eaton( 2.4 million USD,), OLED works(1 million USD), Philips Lumileds(1.8 million USD), PPG industry company(2.3 million USD).
