登过泰山，上过庐山，游过武夷，去过雁荡，相比之下，总觉得黄山有其独特之处。正如人们所说：黄山兼有泰山的雄伟，武夷山的秀逸，庐山的飞瀑腾空，雁荡山的峰石嶙峋……。黄山，可说是四时美景如画。春天，奇花异卉争艳斗妍，加上百鸟啼鸣，花间蝶影，使人沉醉不知归路。夏天，绿树成阴，翠谷流泉；雷雨骤至，立即瀑布飞挂，山间龙吟。秋天，层林尽染，却依然鸟鸣花艳，仿佛三春二度。冬天，时时银装素裹，峰石松草，顶琼佩玉，蔚为奇观。
黄山的松、石、云、泉，更为奇妙，非常罕见，人称“四绝”。
黄山松是黄山奇景之一，它针叶粗短，干曲枝虬，顶平如削，苍翠奇特。它们或雄伟挺立，或倒悬绝壁，或屹立峰颠，或如振翅飞的雄鹰，或似浑身披甲的武士，或冠平如伞，或尖削如剑，苍劲优美，姿态万千。明代钱谦益在《游黄山记》中写道：“黄山无树非松，无松不奇。”确是真实写照。
黄山石是黄山又一奇景。在奇峰林立的峰峦中，有无数灵幻奇巧的怪石与山峰巧妙结合，构成一幅幅绝妙的峰石图。如在半山寺前看到的“金鸡叫天门”，在蟠龙坡看到的“五老上天都”，在玉屏楼看到的“采莲船”，在北海看到的“猴子观海”，在西海看到的“仙人绣花”……无不惟妙惟肖，逼真有趣。
黄山云海，最为壮观，一年四季都有，特别是春、秋、冬三季最多。这些由水气凝结而成的云海，时而堆棉铺絮平静得像玉池一般；时而轻飘漫流，象款款舞动的素娟；时而风起云涌，像滚滚波涛，将万道山梁一齐淹没。
黄山泉水众多，且变幻奇趣，很吸引人。特别奇妙的是可饮可浴的黄山温泉(又名灵泉)，它流量稳定，久早不涸，水温常年保持摄氏42度左右。温泉边还有天然寒泉一眼，盛夏时可与温泉调节，严冬可自动干涸；泉源出于朱砂峰岩窟，隔若干年就朱砂一次，水色变红，过去曾有人这样赞美它：“朱砂常饮愁能化，浴过灵泉骨自香。”
黄山除“四绝”外，还有飞瀑、碧潭、清溪等景色。难怪唐代大诗人李白，写下了“黄山四千仞，三十二莲峰。丹崖夹石柱，菡萏金芙蓉”的诗句。

Though ever landing Mount Tai , climbing Lushan, visiting Wuyi and going to Yandang, somehow I feel that Huangshan has its uniqueness. As it goes that Huangshan has Mount Tai’s majesty, Wuyi’s elegancy, Lushan’s waterfall jump and Yandang’s jagged rocks, Huangshan is blessed with the four seasons’ scenery picturesque. Spring sees the beauty competitions of various flowers, the birds’ singing and the butterflies’ curvet around the flowers, with which tourists are intoxicated, forgetting their way back; summer sees the flourishing trees, valleys with spring, and the falls’ rapture at thunderstorm’s coming; autumn sees the yellowed forests still with birds and flowers around them, making people feel that another spring comes; winter sees the white clothes of rocks, trees and grass, which forms a tremendous spectacle.
Huangshan’s pine, rocks, clouds and spring, which are known as ‘the four greats’ are much more amazing and rare. Pine is one of the wonders in Huangshan. It has short thick leaves, winding trunks and branches, flat top as if cut before, which is very lush and exotic. Some stand grandly, some hanging on the cliff, some has a manful stand on the peak of mountains; some likes the flying eagles, some like the armored warriors, some like umbrellas, some like a sword, altogether beautiful and elegant with various postures. Qian qianyi in the Ming dynasty wrote in his Visiting Huangshan: “in Huangshan, no trees, no pines; no pines, no fancy”. He indeed makes the true picture.
