A Paradise of Birds
After we had our dinner at the primary school where Chen worked, it had already become not as hot as it was in the day. The sun descended behind the hills, leaving the glorious sunset glow hanging in the sky, over the hills and trees.
“Let’s go boating!” Chen suggested, as we were appreciating the mountain scene by the pond in front of the school.
“Good idea!” one friend answered with a cheery.
After a short walk through a gravel path, we reached the river bank never which there was a waterside thatched pavilion. Passing through the pavilion, we found a couple of small boats under two big trees by the riverside.
In the distance was a tower erected on the top of a hill, and surrounded by many green trees, which was rarely seen in the neighborhood. And right there was Chen’s hometown.
We jumped into one of the boats one after another. One friend untied the rope and propelled the boat by a bamboo pole. Instantly, the boat moved slowly towards the center of the river.
While three of my friends rowed, Ye and I were just sitting in the boat, and enjoying ourselves in the scenery around us.
