The 300V battery power of double-mould hybrid electric vehicle can be transferred through the motor-generator control module assembly, which includes two modules, inverter module (PIM) and auxiliary power module (APM), as well as their internal components. These two modules are linked through an external fastener and two internal fasteners. The bigger PIM module lies upon the smaller APM module. When the shift selector is placed in Reverse, the engine will start and run if it was in auto stop. The engine is started to provide a reactionary torque for the transmission to utilize when in Reverse. Power from the engine is transferred through the transmission, the same as in Park range. However, because the Hybrid Direct 2-3-4 clutch assembly is not applied, power from the internal combustion engine does not have any affect on the transmission’s final output to the vehicle’s drive shaft and rear axle. Power to drive the vehicle in reverse is supplied by Drive Motor 2. The 3rd position planetary gear set operates in reduction for a reverse gear ratio of approximately 3.692:1.
