我的父亲是一个记者。在我14岁的时候，曾经跟他一起去上海采访一个普通工人家庭的男孩。这个男孩跟我差不多大，钢琴弹的非常好，英语也很好。他的父母想要送他到国外学习音乐，但家里的经济状况是支付不起国外学校昂贵的学费的。爸爸给他做了一个专访，跟他聊了很多他在成长路上的经历和他的音乐梦想。节目在北京播出之后两个月，一个在中国工作的美国商人通过电视台找到了这个男孩，并且表示愿意资助他去美国学习。我知道这个消息之后高兴的哭了出来。那是我第一次体会到媒体的力量。一个短短十分钟的报道改变了这个男孩的一生，也让更多的人有机会听到他的音乐。除了这个男孩，爸爸还采访过许多各界名人，包括商务部长薄熙来，成功企业家李嘉诚，和功夫巨星成龙。他常常启发我从身边平凡的人身上发现不平凡的故事，而我也希望能像他一样，成为一个可以帮助别人的记者。
大学阶段我进入了北京联合大学旅游学院学习，并且参加了各种实践活动。我先后参加了第三届北京国际金融论坛、Princess Cruise 2006、Crystal Cruise 2007、和2007瑞士银行旅游团的接待工作，让我有机会跟来自不同国家的不同人们交流，并且将中国的大好河山和璀璨文化介绍给他们。后来我还先后为美国莱金战略咨询有限公司、澳大利亚Title Artist Management公司和新西兰 Kia Ora Magazine做翻译助理，帮助它们了解中国，顺利的跟中方代表沟通洽谈。2007年11月，我在中国旅行社有限公司北京签证处进行了6个月的实习，担任业务主管。期间我将部门的工作方式由单人单案的对接改革为单人单环节的流程，大大提高了部门业务的工作效率和专业性。2008年5月，我来到CBS News Beijing进行了两个月的实习，主要负责on-line research of Olympic Athletes, accompanying camera crews in the field, especially organizing video library, which my supervisor说以前的实习生都需要近一个月的时间，而我用了两天时间就顺利完成。2008年7月，我参加了美国Summer Work & Travel Program，在新罕布什尔州的Story Land的礼品店做收银员。在工作中，我始终对顾客面带微笑，跟他们进行small talk，让他们能够感受到我的热情，开开心心地在这里享受家庭时光。跟我一起工作的还有来自斯洛伐克、俄罗斯、乌克兰、法国、土耳其、罗马尼亚、韩国、加纳、厄瓜多尔等国家的学生，我们一起生活、互相交流，让我也有机会深入的了解这些国家，有更广阔的知识和视野。
丰富的成长经历使我拥有了宜人的性格。我成熟自信，善于沟通，并且能够很快的适应新的环境。我的短期目标是进入美国一所优秀的大学学习communication and media studies. 毕业之后我希望能够进入中国的主流媒体比如CCTV或者凤凰卫视工作。我会脚踏实地的做一个能够通过自己的工作帮助身边的人的记者，最后成为像Barry Peterson一样能独当一面的correspondent。我希望从现在起就做一个东方文化的传播使者，把我熟悉的京剧、书法、太极等中国体育和艺术文化介绍给XX大学的老师们和同学们。

My father is a journalist. When I was 14 years old, I went to Shanghai to interview a working-class boy with him. As my peer, the boy was very good at piano and English. His parents wanted to send him abroad to study music, but could hardly afford the expensive tuition because of the poor domestic situation. My father made an exclusive interview for the boy, in which they talked about many of his life experiences and his dream in music. Two months after the program having been broadcasted in Beijing, an American businessman found this boy through the TV station, and was willing to support him to study in the United States. I cried for joy after hearing this news. In fact, that was the first time that I realized the power of media. A short report of only ten minutes had changed the boy’s whole life path, and made more people have the opportunity to enjoy his music. Except for this boy, my father has also interviewed lots of celebrities of all fields, such as Bo Xilai the Commerce Secretary, Li Ka Shing the successful entrepreneur, and Jakie Chan the Kungfu star. He often inspired me to dig out the extraordinary story from the ordinary people. From then on, I hoped that I could become a journalist who was able to help others like my father.
After graduation from senior high school, I was admitted by Beijing Union, and studied in the School of Tourism. Besides study, I also devoted myself to various activities during my college life. I took part in the 3rd International Finance Forum (Beijing), Princess Cruise 2009, Crystal Cruise 2007 and did reception work of the tour group from Swiss Bank Corp in 2007. These experiences offered me the chances to communicate with people from all over the world, at the mean time to introduce China’s picturesque landscape and splendid culture. Afterwards, I worked as translator assistant for Laykin Strategic Consulting Company Ltd. in USA, Title Artist Management Corp in Australia and Kia Ora Magazine Corp in New Zealand. I helped them know more about China and negotiate with the representatives of China smoothly. In Nov. 2007, I interned at the Beijing visa section of China Travel Service Co. Ltd for six months and worked as business administrator there. During the internship, I changed “one person one case” work pattern into “one person one link” work pattern, which greatly improved the working efficiency and professionalism. In May 2008, I had an internship at CBS News Beijing and was mainly responsible for on-line research of Olympic Athletes, accompanying camera crews in the fields, especially organizing video library. My supervisor praised me for my working efficiency, for I finished the task within two days, which cost other interns almost one month. In July 2008, I participated in the Summer Work & Travel Program of USA, and worked as cashier for a gift shop called “Story Land” in New Hampshire. I always kept smiling to the customers and chatted with them, which made them feel my enthusiasm and brought them a wonderful family time there. Among my colleagues, there were students from Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, France, Turkey, Romania, South Korea, Ghana, Ecuador, etc. We lived together and communicated with each other, which gave me the great opportunity to know more about these countries and broaden my horizon.
The abundant life experiences make me easy-going. I am mature, confident and effective in communication as well as the ability to adapt to new environment in a short time. My short-term goal is to enter a famous American university to study communication and media studies. And I hope to work in the mainstream media organization like CCTV and Phoenix TV Station after graduation. I’ll work down to earth to become a journalist who can help others, and then develop into an outstanding correspondent like Barry Peterson. I’ll spare no efforts to become a messenger of the eastern culture, and will bring the Chinese sports and arts such as Peking Opera, Chinese calligraphy and Taiji to teachers and students in XX University.
