【前言】
杭州是浙江的省会城市，是该地区的经济、科技和文化交流中心。地处中国沿海经济发达地区，是著名的侨乡，人均收入位居全国前列，浙江的学子有着强烈出国留学的意识和传统，浙江每年有30多万学生参加高考，而省内的高等院校只有60余所，远远不能满足众多学生求学的需要，所以越来越多家庭选择把孩子送到国外，接受优质教育。如今，浙江已成为国外院校每年招生的重点地区。
2007年的国际教育展也是在6月份在浙江举办，正值中国高考分数线出炉、填报志愿的时间。展会邀请有来自澳大利亚、英国、美国、意大利、爱尔兰、荷兰、日本、新加坡等众多院校参加，国外院校的招生代表和留学服务专家与学生面对面进行沟通，解答学生和家长关心的问题，提供了权威信息和及时的服务。在展会的当天，学生络绎不绝，有数千名学生光临，参展院校会后评价，教育展达到预期效果。
为充分引进和推介国内外先进优质的教育资源，培养高素质复合型人才，推进我国高等教育达到国际化进程，为国内外各类院校、咨询、培训机构提供交流与合作的平台，为公众提供最新、最权威、最直接的国内外教育信息和动态，特定于2008年在浙江杭州，宁波举办“2008中国国际教育展”。

Preface
Hangzhou, as the capital city of Zhejiang province, located among the economically booming coastal areas, is the communication center of economy, science and technology, and culture. Reputed for the honor of the hometown of overseas Chinese, Hangzhou also tops in the personal incomes throughout the country. Conventionally, students in Hangzhou have a strong sense of studying abroad. What’s more, the fact that every year over 300,000 students attend the university entrance examination in Zhejing, where holds only about 60 institutions of higher learning, falling far more beyond the demands for their further study, impels their parents to send their children to foreign countries for receiving high-quality education. At present, Zhejiang has turned to be a priority area for foreign institutions of higher learning to recruit students yearly.
The 2007 International Education Expo was also held in Zhejiang in June when the marks of China’s university entrance examination had come out and the applications for university were under progress. In that expo, many institutions of higher learning from Australia, England, America, Italia, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, .etc, were invited. These overseas representatives as well as the experts on consultation for studying abroad carried out face-to-face communications with students so as to solve their questions concerned and provide them with authoritative information and timely services. Thousands of students came to that expo in an endless stream, so the universities and colleges that were present that day evaluated that the education expo had reached expected effect.
In order to fully introduce advanced education resources, whether domestic or overseas, for the sake of cultivating high-quality comprehensive talents, stimulating China’s internationalized process of higher education, providing domestic and overseas academic institutions, consultation and training centers with a channel for communication and cooperation, and also providing the public with the most authoritative and newly domestic and overseas education information and current events in a direct way, the 2008 Chinese International Education Expo will be held in Ningbo province.
In compliance with the demands of the academic institutions which will take part in the expo, we have made thorough and careful arrangements of the place and time for the expo to make sure a best result. This year’s International Education Expo will begin just after the publication of the marks of the university entrance examination. Hence, this moment is very important for students to choose universities. The expo will set out materials of many foreign academic institutions and up-to-date enrollment information in order to provide the most valuable studying abroad service for various students and their parents.
